Dior unveiled an outstanding home décor collection and Interior Design Shop is thrilled to share it with you. Take a look at the pictures and be inspired with the New House of Christian Dior On New Bond Street, London!
Fashion icon Christian Dior once said, “Living in a house that doesn’t reflect who you are is akin to wearing someone else’s clothes.” It’s a mantra that was manifested in nearly a century’s worth of his work in the fashion and fragrance industry. And though it has been 59 years since the death of Mr. Dior, his words are as relevant as ever, as the company unveils its new home decor collection.
On June 3, Dior opened its doors to an exclusive home decor line, located in the Mayfair district of western London. Though Dior isn’t new to the home decor scene — his Paris store has a home decor section that sells items from third-party designers — the opening of the New Bond Street shop is the launch of the first in-house Dior Home label.
Through the collaboration of 11 designers, the Dior Home line features paper products including Dior-printed playing cards and notebooks; dinnerware including glass carafes, ceramic plates, and crystal glassware; and hand-embroidered bed linens.
Dior’s involvement with the world of home decor is an interesting one, following the departure of creative director Raf Simmons who, incidentally, has been working in the world of furniture design since leaving Dior last year.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Simmons detailed his latest project, a home collection with Kvadrat, underscoring the parallels between fashion and home, while also scrutinising the breakneck speed at which the former is produced.
Dior’s new collection joins other designer-label home decor lines, including Armani Casa, Hermès La Maison and Versace Home, who recently moved its home decor collection in-house, creating runway-to-room inspired goods like the Via Gesù Palazzo Empire sofa, which takes elements from its Palazzo Empire handbag.
