Studio THG Paris has put its mark on Dean, a collection of bathroom fittings and accessories with graphic and masculine lines, the details of which contribute to the vintage design of the set. The simplicity of the spout contrasts with the aesthetics of the braces, with delicate and natural curves. With its remarkable contours, this metal fitting recalls an industrial spirit, which is softened by the roundness of the handle. Dean adapts to contemporary bathrooms as well as to a more retro atmosphere.
Available for basins, showers and baths, with a coordinated accessories line, this series is available in a wide choice of finishes, including chrome, gold, soft gold, nickel, rhodium silver and rose gold. In praise of the simplicity of raw wood and polished metal, the subtle nuances of browns, metal and leather echo this timeless collection.
Timothy Corrigan was the external designer invited to participate in the development of the West Coast and the Grand Central collections. With offices in Paris and Los Angeles, Corrigan’s timeless design philosophy combines European elegance with California comfort. These collections use different materials, such as metal, black onyx and white onyx. THG Paris has used new manufacturing processes, such as Guilloché on metal inserts (only available on the West Coast Collection). The Guilloché is a decorative technique in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive pattern is mechanically engraved into an underlying material via engine turning. This technique allows for greater delicacy, precision and closeness of line.
“I have always been so impressed by the beautiful design and extraordinary attention to detail that one finds in all of the THG Paris products, that one cannot but compare them to jewellery for the bathroom. The intricate details and pleasure that one feels when touching the handles turn a routine and often mundane experience into one that is special. For me, beauty and detail are a basic part of the THG Paris DNA. With that thought in mind, I looked back at a period when jewellery and decorative objects became a greater part of an everyday life: the 1920’s and 30’s, when some of the most beautiful silver and jewellery pieces were created by such leading French and American jewelry makers as Cartier, Christofle, and Tiffany’s”, said Corrigan.
Haviland, the French porcelain manufacturer, is known worldwide for its Limoges porcelain tableware. Since 1842, when David Haviland left the United States to settle in Limoges and open his factory, the name Haviland has never ceased to shine in the firmament of porcelain finery. The company has been asserting its leadership in the porcelain world for more than one and a half centuries. Installed in ultra-modern facilities since the beginning of the nineties, the Factory has retained its ancestral expertise. The result can be seen in the prestigious reproductions of classical decorations as well as in new refined and resolutely contemporary creations. Innovation is perpetuated with the same consistent creativity and passion.
Haviland and THG Paris have decided to collaborate in order to offer a collection of porcelain tap fittings and bathroom accessories. An exceptional creation where the famous flagship Infini décor of the Haviland company has been applied to the braces and reveals a subtle, modern and timeless engraving inspired by the sun’s rays. Created in counter-relief by hand, the Infini engraving is faithful to the DNA of the French porcelain factory and reveals all the know-how of the Master Porcelain maker: highest standards, excellence and meticulousness.
