Bodies is an exciting new exhibition at Blain Southern that features astonishing new paintings by James White. These grey scale paintings explore the trivial details of life, specifically of something that has occurred or may happen in a near future.

They vary from intimate moments to domestic scenes that are meticulously captured by the artist. One of the most interesting facts about photographs is that they are tightly cropped, suggesting a certain incident that goes beyond the frame, thus alluding to human activity without having to depict them.
For the very first time, Kati Heck is exhibiting at the prestigious gallery, Sadie Coles. The artist is displaying six large-scale paintings, installed in a hexagonal space. Together they form an interrelated cycle on the themes of revelry, loneliness, youth, beauty, drunkenness and separation.

The paintings are loosely inspired by Das Lied von der Erde (1909) by Gustav Mahler. Heck manages to transform the bittersweet mood of Mahler’s folk songs into a group of dramatic scenes where one can find expressive and enigmatic characters.
Finding inspiration in a wide variety of sources, from art history to cinema, comic books, verbal anecdotes, sports, and several others, Rose Wylie’s vibrant and creative large-scale canvases are currently being exhibited at the esteemed Serpentine Sackler Gallery.

The Quack Quack exhibition features paintings that date from the late 90s to now. For example, one of them, based on her childhood memories from when she lived in Bayswater during the Blitz, maps Kensington Gardens’ landscape with memories of Spitfires and Messerschmitt planes flying and fighting overhead.

The highly curated exhibition showcases Rosso’s most representative sculptures in plaster, wax and bronze, as well as premiering in the UK, photographs of his sculptures and drawings. In assembly, these pieces help to show how the artist creates powerful yet subtle photos, where shapes appear to materialize and dematerialize when it comes to effects of light and atmosphere.
