Opened on Brook Street in London, Issey Miyake’s shining new flagship store brings another very welcome 5000 square foot of gorgeous shopping experience to Mayfair.
Issey Miyake flagship store in London was designed by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka the store neatly brings together almost all the fashion house’s collections under one roof.
Spilt over two levels, the new store houses the Japanese fashion brand’s signature pleated garments and geometric-patterned bags across its various womenswear, menswear and accessories lines.
The walls and pillars of the building have been stripped back to expose a tactile raw concrete surface, while clothing is hung behind bright blue panels.
The flooring, meanwhile is a poured screed, with specialist bespoke 2mm layers of micro-top applied in a six coat process that is hand finished.
The space’s furniture is also designed by Yoshioka, and includes pieces by Desalto amongst others. The multifaceted blue ‘Brook Ottoman’ – designed especially for the store – will soon go into production by Italian furniture maker Moroso.
