Luminaire shop opens in Los Angeles with a contemporary showroom – Retailer shop Luminaire has unveiled a luxurious 15,500-square-foot store in Los Angeles. The Miami-based retail shop is mostly known for showcasing avant-garde international brands regarding interior design.
At 8840 Beverly Boulevard, this is the brand’s first market expansion in over 30 years. Founded in 1974 by Nasir and Nargis Kassamali, this is the fourth location for the brand, that has a previous store in Chicago and 3 installations in Miami.
“As Los Angeles grows to become a global destination for art and design, we want Luminaire to be an important part of this narrative,” said Nasir Kassamali in a statement. The bazaar features the new line of contemporary kitchens Luminaire designed for Italian maker Minimal, and select pieces from Brazilian designer Jader Almeida’s Sollos furniture collection.
What was previously the Antiquarius Center fine jewelry mart, includes an extravagant staircase in the interior’s centre. In this new location, the shop will create luxurious furniture and design pieces for kitchens, bathrooms and living room environments.
Shoppers can find a big variety of pieces by designers around the world. The installation offers lighting fixtures by German designer Ingo Maurer and Italian designer Davide Groppi, among others.
